In this lesson plan, students will use the Case Study "Fire Safety" (See CPALMS Resource ID 219978) to discuss tevacuation steps during a fire. Students will create an evacuation plan/map for the home described in the case study.

In this lesson plan, students will use the Case Study "Fire Safety" (See CPALMS Resource ID 219978) to introduce the components needed for a fire to occur and how to put out fires by removing one of the components. Students will also discuss the steps of how to use a fire extinguisher (P.A.S.S.).

Using the case study, "From Chaos to Clarity," students will collaborate with a partner to complete a graphic organizer with conflicts, strategies to navigate conflicts and obstacles, and reasons for selecting the strategies in a workplace setting. Students will write an exit ticket that gives the one conflict management strategy they feel will best fit this scenario.

After rereading chapters 1-3 from the text, The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass and the 13th-15th Amendments, students will better understand Civil Rights and the author’s choice of words to use throughout the text to make a point. Students can identify and explain examples within the text where Douglass uses diction and syntax to establish and achieve his purpose.

This is lesson 3 of 3 in a mini-unit integrating civics and 7^th Grade ELA. In this lesson, students will be continuing to review 9 Landmark Supreme Court cases with an opening activity requiring the students to examine the court cases and pick out key academic vocabulary. At this point, students should be ready for a final review which is a matching game. Students will match the court cases, amendments, and key academic vocabulary terms to their descriptions or definitions. This activity can be played multiple times to ensure mastery of the standards.

In this lesson students will be continuing to review 9 Landmark Supreme Court cases with an interactive PowerPoint with primary source quotes that allow students to determine the cases discussed in each of the quotes. Students will then work through an activity (Think, Write, Pair, Share) to compare and contrast two court cases that they think had the most significant impact on society.

In this MEA, students will decide how many wolves to introduce into Yellowstone National Park's ecosystem. The number of wolves could influence many factors, from the tourism industry to local farming businesses, as well as the populations of other species in the area. Students must choose to introduce the number of wolves they feel will be most beneficial to the preservation of Yellowstone National Park as determined by the mission statement of Yellowstone and the National Park Service.

In this four-part series, students will read informational texts in the form of brochures created by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. Students will work in groups to complete a graphic organizer to identify text features, determine the meaning of selected vocabulary, and compare central ideas.
