Interactive Research Pages 3-5

Interactive Research Pages support grade 3-5 students’ development of using digital tools to research a variety of grade appropriate interdisciplinary topics in social studies and science. Students will use text features like table of contents, illustrations, captions, etc to research different topics. Each Interactive Research Page provides informational text to help students research topics and prepare to present the information by locating and citing facts and relevant details. New vocabulary words are presented and used within the text. The informational text is written with grades 3-5 students as the audience and has optional narration to assist learners if needed.

The Interactive Research Pages can be used individually or as a set of multiple research sources. Teachers can implement the Interactive Research Pages in a variety of ways to connect ELA skills to other content areas. Science Interactive Research Pages include connections to STEM in Action and Investigations students can do to further enhance their exploration of the content. Social Studies Interactive Research Pages provide a graphic organizer download for note-taking and scaffolding to reinforce appropriate use of highlighting important information within a text.
